Nestled between Mt. Tamalpais and the Pacific Ocean, Kenkō retreat at Stinson Beach is a peaceful retreat to soothe body & soul. Have an analogue experience. Stinson Beach is full of natural beauty and surrounded by beautiful beaches & hiking trails. We are a short walk to the beach and right at the base of Mount Tamalpais, steps from trail heads of the most gorgeous hiking trails in the world. Explore the beaches, catch some waves, go for a trail run. Take Highway 1 up the coast for oysters and visit the ancient redwood.

The house has the look and feel of a Japanese farmhouse from the outside, and carries that simple yet thoughtfully designed feeling indoors into a comfortable, well furnished house. The house was immaculately clean, the linens were so luxurious, and the kitchen was well stocked. Everything we needed to make ourselves at home was at our fingertips. The house sits on a hillside overlooking Stinson Beach with incredible ocean views and ample grounds for meditative walks around their magical gardens. The sauna looks like something out of a magazine and the hot tub has the best view in the area. We have found our piece of heaven. And we will be back to Kenko just as soon as we can! ”

Large open spaces flood with light and views of the ocean and mountains can be seen from all rooms. Exposed post and beam west coast architecture with high ceilings and tall view windows, modern furnishings, and a dining area leading out to a deck overlooking gardens offer endless views of the ocean. The space and grounds have a retreat like quality perfect for intimate gatherings and connecting with family and friends. There is a large yoga room, hot tub and steam sauna available to enjoy during your stay.

The gourmet kitchen is equipped with a Viking stove and dishwasher, 2 sinks, and is stocked with dishes, silverware + basic utensils, glasses, cookware, coffee maker and teapot. Pickup local organic produce fresh from the farm for your farm to table dinner, arrange for an oyster picnic or stroll to a local restaurant. There is also a market within walking distance with basic groceries and supplies. There is an outdoor dining table and chairs with views past the Farallon Islands.

Please note there is an 8 person maximum at Kenkō Retreat including day guests. The upper gardens including hot tub, steam sauna and dining patio will be yours to enjoy during your stay. We take great care in maintaining the space’s retreat like quality and guest numbers are strict so please respect them.
Before entering the house, please shake the sand or mountain off of your clothes outside and leave your shoes at the door. There is a space provided upon entry for your shoes. Mahalo Please help respect this request to keep the space clean for your stay. There are radiant heated concrete floors which will be set at a comfortable temperature for your stay.
Please respect our neighbors and neighborhood. This is not a party space. This is a retreat space to rest, reconnect with nature, rejuvenate and enjoy the sounds of the natural surroundings. Quiet hours are from 8 pm to 8 am. No parties of any kind or excessive loud noise will be tolerated. No events, vendors or guests involved in wedding events (even at other locations) without prior written permission. Please note, no Saturday departures.
